I’m Steve Nyholm. I’m a born & raised California boy who lives in Davis – the bike capital of the US. I have an array of backgrounds in engineering, psychology, teaching, entrepreneurial business, real estate, and software development. I currently work as a software engineer at Nyholm Solutions.
I’ve always been interested in making things run better or be more organized. It’s kind of a hobby. I also love to share ideas and knowledge with others. The experience of giving an “a-ha” experience to others is equally amazing and fulfilling. Sometimes I am on a roll, and successfully figure out how to simplify a complicated subject for myself and others. AListForEverything is a place where I can share these insights.
I am also compulsive list-maker and find them incredibly useful. My purpose for using lists is to creatively plan my life, instead of just having life pass me by. I use them to organize just about everything I am involved in, in all aspects of life. Much more than a simple to-do list or shopping list, advanced lists are an important tool for my decision making and project management. To expand the analogy to its limits, I even consider that my life can be boiled down to a list - a big, complex list. Along the way, I’ve discovered some tricks for making my own life easier. I decided to start this blog to share my lists and ideas because, who knows, other people might like them too.
I also wanted a place to save links, thoughts, or solutions I’ve figured out. As I launch AListForEverything, I am specifically drawn to the topics of internet startup businesses and .NET technologies. I have done a little blogging in the past and found it to be a great tool to lookup past solutions. It can be a huge time saver instead of reinventing the wheel when facing a new problem.
This blog will definitely be a reflection of my broad interests. I’ll do my best to make it easy to find related posts. I absolutely expect this site to be quick and easy to use. This blogsite will evolve over time. As it does, look for some creative lists to find anything & everything I’ve blogged about.
If you have any questions or comments, send them to snyhol@AListForEverything.com or use my online contact page.
Thanks. Enjoy. I wish you well with all of your dreams and projects.

p.s. You might be wondering… Who is snyhol? It’s an alias I was given while working on a project at Vertigo Software - an amazing and fun workspace. Everyone on the team got some really funny aliases during that project and many of them kind of stuck as nicknames. Mine was “snyhol.” The nickname stuck.
